ConKerr Cancer - a case of smiles - make a pillowcase for a child with cancer or life changing illness. Stitches is one of the drop-off points for this organization and we hope you can join us on the first Wednesday of every month in making pillowcases. Fabric requirements are 3/4 yard for body and 1/3 yard for border so dig out your fabric stash (or we will have kits available) and sew with us on May 7 and every first Wednesday thereafter from 12:00 - 3:00. If you prefer to make pillowcases at home please wash pillowcase first and place in a quart size ziplock bag and drop them off at Stitches. Website is ConKerrCancer.org

At the bottom of this page you can view “printer friendly”. Print this page and bring it to Stitches. If we don’t have the item in stock, we’ll special order it for you (a deposit may be required). The best part – no shipping or handling charges when picked up at the store.

Machine Quilting Service - let us help you get those quilts finished. Stop in and we’ll discuss various designs and thread options. Prices vary depending on size and intricacy of patterns, but usually range from $50.00 and up.

Challenge Yourself for Charity 2008
Our second annual Challenge Yourself for Charity is returning this summer. There will be four shops, four fabrics and four different charities. The entry fee is $4.00 (and you may enter as often as you wish).
The participating shops are the same as last year: Stitches, Aunt Ruth’s, The Quilt Cabin and Yarns & Fabrications.
You may pick up a 5” square of challenge fabric from each participating shop from June 9 – June 21, 2008 in order to be eligible for door prize drawings of 4 - $25 gift certificates (one per shop).
Create your quilted project (which can be whatever you desire) as long as you use a 1” square of each challenge fabric within your project. All finished projects should be turned in by Sept. 13 and will be displayed at the Autumn Quilt Festival on Sept. 28.
Four levels of entry will be judged: beginner, intermediate, advanced and most creative.
Kwik Tic-Tac-Toe - this is a very quick quilt using freezer paper, and a stack once and cut technique. It works well with scraps or brights and would make a great quilt for a teenager

Beginning Quilting - in this class we will use Thangles to make several different blocks to be incorporated into a project of your choice whether it be a wall hanging, queen size quilt, or just a small table runner. Learning to quilt using Thangles will give the novice quilter confidence in piecing triangles with perfect points. This would also be a good class for anyone who wants to learn to use Thangles.

On Point - this is a 9-month Block of the Month quilt comprised of 14 pieced blocks set on point surrounding a beautifully appliquéd or pieced center. You may choose to make the blocks in class or pick up 2 fabric kits and blocks each month. If you'd prefer to use different fabrics for your kit we'd be happy to help you choose them.

space – if you call to sign up, we will pencil in your name and hold the spot
for 3 business days. We must make commitments to teachers in advance so store credit
will be given only if canceled 7 days prior to
the first session. All classes have a supply list – if you have the supplies at home,
please feel free to bring them; if not, all supplies required for the classes
are available for purchase at Stitches. We appreciate your patronage and
